One tip a day to improve your website design. No. 5: Use the right images

Within 5 seconds of landing on your website, can visitors understand what your company does? Could users easily navigate to the blog if they need it? Do you have a high bounce rate on your website? Maybe it’s time to take a hard look at how you design and optimize your site.

To help you answer this, here are 14 tips, shared one per day, to ensure you’re heading in the right direction with your redesign and to keep your visitors coming back.

5. Use the right images

The ideal images are those taken by a professional photographer or sourced from a photobank, and, of course, they should be high quality.

Above all, images should be directly related to your services or products and well-placed within the text. Ideally, use photos that depict real people working in your company and your actual office space.

Photos should clearly convey your company’s content and include descriptions, meta descriptions, keywords, and everything necessary for effective SEO.

Remember, images should be high-resolution but also optimized for web use.
